A discussion with Professor Yuichi Hosoya: Japan enters uncharted waters. Internally, political stability is ending, while externally faith in the partnership with the US is eroding quickly.
Thank you for the great summaries. Now I can quickly listen to what I may otherwise have missed.
Neutrality is something the human race needs to evolve in the best direction. The shorter attention spans displayed by so many in our modern societies are not positive. The unwillingness of leaders to focus critical attention on the beautiful planet that is home to all that exists, deciding instead to destroy rather than nurture nature is an unforgivable crime capable of causing the destruction of all that we know.
The planet will survive, renew and evolve. We may not.
Your studies are a light shining toward a more positive outcome. My hope is that the light grows to proportions that set us on the path of positive evolution and healing for all that exists on earth.
The United States completely blew its opportunity to largely mind its own business and lead by example during the unipolar moment. If the leaders in the US had listened to sensible people starting in the 1950s and 1960s, and then listened to George Kennan and John Mearsheimer both the US and the entire world would be in a much better place today.
Instead we were led by fools.
As time goes on it will become more and more apparent that this series of huge mistakes will have negative consequences with regard to the dynamics involved with great power politics during the remainder of this century.
That’s assuming we as a species last that long.
It’s really a shame because it would have been so simple to have stayed on the right side of history…
This isn’t to say that we wouldn’t be facing a multitude of problems anyway, it’s just that the ramifications of these blunders make trying to solve all of the problems we’re all facing that much harder to manage.
Unfortunately, it’s likely that this will become more apparent as time goes on.
It’s not too late to try to right the ship and steer it in the best direction possible but time is running out.
Summaries are a great idea, Pascal, for instances when we do not have much time available. Hope you keep them. Thank you... 👍
Thanks! Gonna experiment some more with this and see how to best integrate this format 👍
Ditto support for your summaries, concise and concentrated, the discussion essence distilled.
